PC system requirements (Steam)
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 | Intel Core i5-10400 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Storage | 10 GB available space | 10 GB available space |
Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system, and both ask for the same 16 GB of memory and 10 GB of storage; the difference is the CPU generation and, above all, the graphics card. The reported Steam download is 5.8 GB, so the 10 GB storage figure leaves room for updates and the Midnight Edition's Digital Sound & Art Gallery. Steam does not say which resolution or frame rate each tier targets, so what “recommended” delivers is not confirmed as of 2026-10-14.
Interestingly, the minimum asks for more memory than the hardware tier might suggest: 16 GB of RAM alongside a GTX 1650-class card. If your PC has 8 GB of memory, you are below the published minimum even if your graphics card is strong. The recommended RTX 3060 is a mainstream card from 2021, so most gaming PCs bought in the last few years should clear it.
Controls and PC features
- Full controller support, with Steam tagging the game “Gamepad Recommended”.
- DualSense support on PC for PlayStation 5 controllers.
- Keyboard-only option, so you can play without a mouse or a controller.
- Custom volume controls and stereo sound.
- Family Sharing is listed on Steam.
- Single-player only; there is no online or local multiplayer listed.
A gamepad is the natural fit for a 2D action game built around whip swings, rolls and slides, which is why Steam recommends one, but the keyboard-only option means you are not locked out without one.
Xbox on PC and Xbox Play Anywhere
Belmont's Curse is also sold for Windows through the Microsoft Store as Xbox on PC. The Xbox Store lists it as Xbox Play Anywhere, Microsoft's program in which one digital purchase covers both Xbox consoles and Windows PC through the Xbox app, and it tags “PC Game Pad” support. The Microsoft Store's own PC requirements were not part of our check, so compare them on the listing; expect them to be close to Steam's, since it is the same game, but that is not confirmed.
Steam Deck
As of 2026-10-14, Valve has not assigned a Steam Deck compatibility rating: the Deck compatibility report for the game is still empty, which the store shows as unknown. There is no native Linux or SteamOS version. Whether it runs well on Steam Deck is therefore not confirmed; the free Steam demo is the easiest way to test it yourself before buying.
Consoles: frame rate, download size and storage
| Platform | Frame rate | Reported download | Minimum storage (Standard / Midnight) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | 60 fps | 7.1 GB | 8 GB / 10 GB | Physical Midnight Edition available |
| Xbox Series X|S | 60 fps | About 7.4 GB | 8 GB / 10 GB | Optimized for Series X|S; Xbox Store lists a maximum install of about 8.0 GB |
| Xbox on PC | 60 fps | About 7.4 GB | 8 GB / 10 GB | Xbox Play Anywhere |
| Steam (Windows) | 60 fps | 5.8 GB | 10 GB | Requirements above |
| Nintendo Switch | 30 fps | 4.2 GB | 4 GB / 6 GB | TV, tabletop and handheld modes |
Konami's official specs give 60 fps on PS5, Xbox and PC and 30 fps on Switch. Resolution targets per platform are not confirmed as of 2026-10-14; the Xbox Store lists a 4K Ultra HD capability, but Konami has not said whether Xbox Series S matches Series X. The minimum storage figures are Konami's; the download sizes are the figures reported by Prima Games and Nintendo's eShop. Switch owners should note that the eShop's 4.2 GB download is slightly larger than Konami's 4 GB minimum for the Standard Edition, so leave headroom.
Nintendo Switch 2
There is no native Switch 2 version. Nintendo's store lists the game as “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch”, which means a Switch 2 plays the Switch version, and as of 2026-10-14 no Switch 2 patch or upgrade has been announced. In its review, Siliconera reports performance issues and weaker visuals on Switch and Switch 2 and suggests that Nintendo players wait to see whether fixes arrive. If Switch 2 is your main console, read our reviews roundup and try the demo before buying.
Use the demo as a benchmark
The free demo is the best way to check performance on your own hardware, and it is a smaller download. Konami lists these minimum storage figures for it:
| Platform | Demo storage |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | 6 GB |
| Nintendo Switch | 3 GB |
| Xbox Series X|S | 5 GB |
| Steam | 4 GB |
The demo runs at the same 60 fps (30 fps on Switch) as the full game and covers the opening sewers up to the first boss, so it exercises both exploration and a boss fight. Progress carries over to the full game on the same platform and account. Konami does not list the demo for Xbox on PC, only Xbox Series X|S. See the demo page for download links and the save transfer rules.
Will my PC run Castlevania: Belmont's Curse?
- Check your operating system: Steam lists Windows 11 64-bit for both tiers.
- Check memory: 16 GB of RAM is the minimum and the recommendation.
- Compare your graphics card with the GTX 1650 (minimum) and RTX 3060 (recommended).
- Compare your processor with the Intel Core i5-8400 (minimum) and i5-10400 (recommended).
- Free 10 GB of storage, then download the Steam demo and play the first boss fight.
Languages and audio
Every version supports text in 11 languages: English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Konami lists voice acting in English and Japanese; Steam's page briefly marked Korean as fully voiced too, but as of 2026-10-14 it lists only English and Japanese audio. The Japanese cast is on the characters page. Release timing per platform is on the release date page.
