# Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what data is processed when you visit this unofficial Castlevania: Belmont's Curse fan guide, a static website without accounts, comments or forms, run by the site operator; it was last updated on October 14, 2026.

## Summary

- We do not ask for your name, email address or any account details, and we do not sell personal data.
- Our hosting provider processes basic request data to deliver and protect the site.
- When enabled, advertising and analytics services may use cookies or similar technologies.
- YouTube videos load only after you press play.

## Who is responsible

The site is operated by the site operator, an independent fan. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to **hello@castlevaniabelmontscurse.net**.

## Hosting and server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and defend against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time of the request. We use this only for operating and securing the site. See [Cloudflare's privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

## Advertising

When advertising is switched on, some content pages show labelled ads served by **Adsterra**. Adsterra and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and your IP address to deliver, limit, measure and personalise ads. The about page, this policy and the terms never carry ads. See [Adsterra's privacy policy](https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/).

## Analytics

We may enable **Google Analytics 4** and **Microsoft Clarity** to understand which pages are useful. They can collect pages visited, referrers, device and browser type, approximate location and, in Clarity's case, interactions such as clicks and scrolling. We do not use them to identify individual visitors. See [Google's privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and [Microsoft's privacy statement](https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement).

## YouTube videos

Official trailers are shown as a placeholder image created by us. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play; the player then loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google may set cookies and process data under its own policy.

## Cookies

The site itself does not need cookies to work. Any cookies come from the advertising, analytics or video services above, only when those services are active on the page.

## Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use content blockers, or install the [Google Analytics opt-out add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR or California's privacy laws may give you rights to access, delete or object to the processing of your data. Because we hold no account data, requests about ads or analytics are usually best sent to those providers, but you can always contact us.

## Children and changes

The site is not directed at children under 13. If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does this site collect personal data?

We do not collect names, emails or accounts. Hosting, and when enabled, advertising and analytics services process technical data such as IP addresses.

### Do YouTube embeds track me before I press play?

No. The YouTube player loads only after you press play.
